Football Fun

We had a fun day with other Proctor families on Saturday watching the football team play in a bowl game against Suffield Academy.  Our football boys had an incredible season going 8-0 and finished the season as the highest scoring team in the league.  Unfortunately, they went up against a really strong Suffield team and ended up losing this final game of the season 34-16.  It was a beautiful, sunny day and the boys had a blast playing with their friends and running around a different campus.  We even got to stop at Bertucci's (my favorite!) on the way home!  Here are a few pictures from our football adventure in MA.

Here's the crew.  We love our friends!
Camden and Hannah are little buddies from both Proctor and pre-school!

These two boys just love to wrestle!!

Scott congratulating his friend, and head coach, Ben.  Great season, Ben!

And now the fall season is officially over and we are already into basketball season - a long, but enjoyable season for Scott to coach!  No more crisp, cold fall days...back into the gym!

Another Year Over

Another school year has come and gone!  Crazy.  It's hard to believe that we just finished our 6th year at Proctor!  How did that happen?!?!  When we first started we were newlyweds and life was SO different.  I was teaching US History and Sociology, coaching soccer and basketball, advising and dorm parenting...now I'm washing cloth diapers, reading Berenstain Bear books and feeling lucky if I get a shower in during the day!  Life has changed, but it is all so much for the better.  We love our boys and love our home and pretty much just love life in general.

Graduation was on Saturday in the pouring rain and 50˚ weather so needless to say I don't have any pictures from the day!  It is always a little bittersweet to have another year come to a close, watching the kids who were just Freshmen head off for college...It all makes me feel quite old!

We had a great time hosting Scott's advisory (a group of seven boys that Scott mentors and advises throughout their time at Proctor) over for dinner during the week of final exams!  They are a great group and of course our little boys had so much fun with them!
Of course, there had to be a game of "Pole-ish Frisbee" in the backyard.
Camden and Micah had fun with our hoop out front.
Love this one...
With only one senior in the group, most of these guys will be back with Scott next year.
Now that the school year is over, we are looking forward to summer!  Scott will still be working (he's building stone walls with two other faculty friends - he's gonna be buff! - and still doing some work at Proctor through the communications and Development departments) but he'll have every afternoon off and a lot less work in the evenings!  I'll just continue hanging out with these two goofs.

Fun in the Sun!

We had such a wonderful day today (Saturday) - although we're all feeling tired and a little crisp after being out in the hot sun for most of the day!  We celebrated our friend, Bria's, 2nd birthday and had a blast running around Proctor's Spring Fling!  This is the last weekend before finals begin and it's always a great way to end to the school year.

Here's Micah at Bria's party...we forgot our swim suits, but it didn't stop my boys from getting wet!
 So many little Proctor buddies!
Camden had so much fun going through the jumpy house obstacle course!  He's such a big boy now and loves being independent!
 Pretty excited!
Micah wanted to participate in everything the big kids were doing.
 Love him!
These two were spoiled with all the free food!  Micah tried his first snow cone.  Both boys' snow cones ended up on the ground...and they didn't even freak out too much!
We headed home for nap time and to take a break from the hot sun.  After a good long nap, we met my parents and brought my Dad for a walk around Proctor.  He enjoyed sitting in the shade watching his grandsons (and son-in-law) try and catch frogs in the pond.
 Frog!
Scott caught a huge frog and Camden was a little nervous (as was I...ugh.  I hate frogs)!
After a while a bunch of Proctor kids joined in the fun!
Sarah loves our boys...and they love her!
 Camden tried to help...
See my Mom and Dad heading back home?!?!
We are so thankful for this community that we live in.  We love all our other faculty families and their kids, we love our students who are so good with our children and truly take an interest in them, and we love being near our own parents so much.  Thankful for a fun-filled, sunny weekend and the rapidly approaching end of the school year!
