Playdates, Family and Fun!

Wow...I am such a blog-slacker these days! Don't worry, Camden is not nearly as sick and pitiful as he was when I wrote my last post. He recovered pretty well, but we're just now getting our normal sleep patterns back. After sleeping on/with me for a week during his sickness (which I don't regret at all, the poor little guy was SO sick) Camden had some trouble getting used to sleeping on his own in his crib again. But, unfortunately, sleep issues and lack of sleep is nothing new to us! We are pros at functioning on little to no sleep (isn't that sad!?!?!?!).

We've had some fun adventures over the last week since Camden started feeling better.

We went on a sled ride with Jordan in the woods behind our house...

Uncle Brian and Aunt Sarah came to visit us last weekend when they had an event at Mount Sunapee for work. Camden had SOOOO much fun playing with them and was sad when they left!
Camden still loves climbing in his toy basket and piling all his toys in on top of him...

Last Saturday, Camden and I drove down to the North Shore and had a wonderful playdate with some friends! Jenna, Rachel and Rita all graduated from Gordon, but we actually didn't know eachother very well when we were in school. We all had many mutual friends and I knew them, and the men that they all eventually married, casually. Since graduating, we all got married and had little ones and through blogging and facebook (lots of mommy talk and helping eachother through various trials and issues we are facing as moms) I have become friends with them! We had a wonderful time, and I truely feel so blessed to have gotten to know them better. Now we're REAL friends and not just facebook friends! :)
Here are some pictures from our time together...
Rachel and Rita with their two little girls, Sydney and Kate...
Camden playing with Jenna's two year old daughter, Cora...
Rita entertaining the kiddos...

Group shot! Me and Camden, Rita and Kate, Jenna and Cameron and Cora, and Rachel and Sydney...

On a walk...
Splashing in mud puddles...
We had fun watching a Proctor Hockey game on Monday night...
Camden loves wearing my mittens...
We FINALLY bought Camden a booster seat at Target yesterday and he LOVES it! Such a big boy now!
We are SOOOOOOOO looking forward to going to FLORIDA in March! We are counting down the days. I bought Camden a new swimsuit and crocks at Target yesterday and he had so much fun running around the house that evening in his new gear! He's getting psyched for warmer weather too!
Camden playing in his toy corner. He's getting so much better at entertaining himself these days! YAHOO!
We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning and it still hasn't let up! It's beautiful out!
Ami and Bepa spent some time over here today! Camden always has fun with Ami!
Scott was sleepy after another EARLY morning with the little guy...
Looking at the snowy day in his diaper...cute! :)

Wearing Daddy's crocs!
After dinner we had fun playing outside as a family! Unfortunately, it started turning into a mix of rain and snow so we got a little wet!
Family!

Camden sat on a snowbank and watched Scott and I throw snowballs at various targets (Scott was definitely better than me). We had a fun night together!

Phew...that was quite a blog post.  Hope everyone is having a great week!

Sick

So our poor little guy has been sick since Tuesday. At first we thought it was just a cold or that it was teething-related since his eye teeth (and a million others) are all poking through. The amount of snot, drool and tears soaking his face these last few days is unbelievable. He has been clinging to me like a little monkey, and will hardly go to anyone else, even Scott. He only sleeps if he's in bed with me and lies practically on top of me...so needless to say, I haven't slept in three nights. We had Camden's 18 month well-child check up scheduled for today, so we decided to wait until today to bring him to our pediatrician since it's about 45 minutes away. He was a blubbering mess as Dr. Turkington tried to check his ears and eyes and throat and everything. We talked a little about normal 18 month check-up stuff - food, words, sleeping, all the new things he's learning, but most of that discussion was put aside to deal with the little mess we had on our hands.

It turns out that Camden has a Respiratory infection called RSV - Respiratory Syncytial Virus. Apparently, tons of kids in the area are sick with this. It can be very dangerous for newborns and kids with asthma, but Camden should handle it fine. The bad news is that he is in a lot of pain (ears, throat, fever, cough, snot...) and that he's going to get worse before he gets better! He's already coughing to the point of choking, so I'm a little nervous about this getting worse. We have an inhaler of Abuterol to give him connected to a little mask...but he definitely doesn't like it. Hopefully he'll get used to it so he can improve.

He is such a pitiful sight to see. Here are a few pictures from today...

This is the only way he'll sleep, so I'm spending a lot of time in bed...

Right when we finally night-weaned him and got him sleeping through the night (until 4:00am) he gets sick.  Oh well...his health and my sanity are more important than routines, so it's back to nursing on demand and co-sleeping until the worst is over!  I'm lying in bed next to him right now.  Scott has an away basketball game in Connecticut and won't be home until 11:30, so I'm all stocked up with some movies and a glass of water to get me through the night - no Olympic Opening Ceremonies for me tonight!

Hope everyone else is staying healthy!  We feel so blessed that this is only Camden's second (and worse) sickness (yes, this is worse than his bout of Swine Flu) and are looking forward to having our healthy, happy boy back soon!

Bumps, Adventures and Coloring

We had a pretty bad scare with Camden on Sunday when he fell and split his head open just above his eye. Scott was lying on the ground and Camden was trying to walk on his legs and lost his balance. He slammed his head pretty hard into a corner of our big wooden drying rack that we use to dry our cloth diapers and there was lots of tears and even some blood! Poor little guy. It actually turned out not to be so bad, and a little antibacterial gel and a bandaid did the trick. Here's Camden showing of his injury...

and reading with Daddy...
We had a big adventure today with Camden's friend Linden, and his mom, Molly. Usually on Thursday mornings we all do our little swim class together, but it was canceled this week, so we decided to go up to the Montshire Museum together. The boys had so much fun running around, looking at the fish and turtles, playing with the new bubble and air exhibits and playing in the toddler area. After a couple busy hours at the museum we went into downtown Hanover and had a yummy lunch a Boloco. Here are some pictures from our day...

Camden has been VERY into coloring recently. He walks over to the desk, opens the drawer, pulls out paper and his markers and plops himself on the floor multiple times a day. He usually ends up with marker on his face and on the floor, but he's quite the little artist as well! Tonight Ami and Clara stopped by for a little visit and Camden had fun coloring with his cousin...
