Our Gutted House...

So when I say we gutted our house...I wasn't exaggerating.  It is down to the studs and we are finally starting the more exciting project of putting it back together!  The photos below were all taken on December 29th, and since then our brother-in-law, Dave, has framed the bathroom and some closets upstairs and the electrician has started his work as well!  Next week brings plumbing and insulation then sheetrock, then paint, and ta-da - a brand new house!  Unfortunately, it's not as easy as it sounds.  Scott has been putting in so much time on top of his teaching and coaching responsibilities here at school to get bids from people, meet them down at the house, make decisions on who to hire etc... This weekend we finished tearing out the sheetrock and plaster in the final two upstairs bedrooms.  I spent an hour or so over there with Scott on Sunday (during his 4 hour stint) and it was probably the most time we've spent together just the two of us in ages!  We had fun wearing our facemasks, singing along to the country songs blasting from the little boombox and putting time into our house together - slowly but surely making it our own.  Can't wait for the finished product, but doing our best to enjoy the process as well!  Here's what things were looking like a couple weeks ago...

Looking from our kitchen down into the dining room...
Corner of dining room looking into living room...

Upstairs, looking from bathroom across landing into two kids bedrooms...
From corner of bathroom...(bathroom is now framed and space to the right in this picture is our bedroom).
bathroom into bedroom which is two separate rooms now...
And it wouldn't be a complete blog without a precious picture of at least one of our cutie pies!  Gotta love little Micah-Man!

It's looking really good! Only someone who has gutted a house before would know that it's looking good!! :) And the photo of Micah took the prize.
