Red, White and Blue...

I'm still playing catch up on here, but wanted to share some photos of one of my favorite days of the year - the 4th of July!  I love this day...not because I'm particularly patriotic, (I mean...don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful for this country and the freedoms we have and everything...), but I just associate this day with family and small-town fun.  Our little town of 2,000 swells to the brim when approximately 10,000 additional people descend on our little village to celebrate the 4th with a flea market, parade, games and a wonderful fireworks display!  We had an extra great time this year as Clara was here visiting.  The boys had a blast running around town with her - though I was particularly missing my Daddy that day - he was like the mayor...walking around talking to every person who passed him, laughing his big booming laugh and making people smile.  We woke the boys up in time to see the fireworks for the first time this year.  They didn't like how loud it was outside, so we snuggled up on our couch and watched them through the window.  We could still hear the booming pretty loud as they're let off just down the road from us and the mosquitoes couldn't get us!  It was pretty perfect!
Brian and Sarah came up for the weekend and we filled the following few days with swims at the lake and lots of family time.  Sadie rolled over for the first time on a blanket at Elkins Beach just four days after her three month birthday.  From that moment on, she rolled both directions every time we put her on the floor.  She's gonna be trying to keep up with those brothers of hers before we know it!
 Cousins!!!
Free jumpy house on the town green!
Even at almost-five, Camden still doesn't like all the noise in the parade.
 Hi Eric!
Lollipop face!  Tired boy...
So fun that Jon, Mere and Emmaline were visiting for the day too!  (Jon is my cousin and I've known Meredith her entire life too.  Our parents went to Gordon together!  Emma is like another little cousin to our kiddos!)
Someone gave Micah a little Mohawk...thankfully it only lasted about one minute before he asked for his hair to go back to normal!
 Mylah likes her big cousin!
 Sand castle time...
 Smiley Sadie...
 Handsome hubby...
 Hi Mylah...
 Sprinkler fun!
Someday these two will have so much fun together!
 Sisters-in-law...
 Love these three!
 Awkward prom pose?  :)
 Sadie on the beach...

I always think it's fun to look back at how far we've come in a year...Here's a link to:

Maine

We took a quick day trip on Friday to visit Brian, Sarah and our little cousin, Mylah, in Maine.  Traveling 2.5 hours each way with three kids isn't exactly relaxing - and our trip was briefly interrupted with a stop at Old Navy to replace my flip flop which completely broke during one of my many climbs into the backseat to help the boys - but we had a great time none-the-less!  We love being able to see them as often as we do, and can't wait to watch the cousins grow up together.  Mylah is about five months older than Sadie, so hopefully they'll be good little buddies!

Mylah had just woken up from a nap when we got there and was just a bit overwhelmed!
We had a great time getting ice cream and visiting the animals at Toots before the rain arrived!
Micah checking out the cows - it was a little windy and cold (love his expression!)...
Back at the house we enjoyed watching the kids play and interact together and took lots of pictures!  Trying to get a good photo of all four of them proved to be completely impossible...but it was fun trying!
Thanks for these next two photos, Brian!  I love this one of Camden!
 Smiley girl!
 Kisses for Dada...
I have a slight obsession with baby feet...it just doesn't get any cuter than this!
 Sisters and babies...
 Love him...
 The girls were not happy...
 ...and neither was Camden!!
Poor Sadie and Mylah!
The boys crashed on the way home!
Thanks for a great day Brian and Sarah!

Allenby Portland Fun (Round 1 and Round 2)

We've taken two trips to visit family in Portland, Maine in the last 3 weeks.  The first weekend we went we were supposed to spend the weekend with the whole Allenby clan.  We hadn't seen Jeff and Ashley since Thanksgiving, but then, sadly, their flight got canceled and they had to postpone until two weekends later.  Steve and Nancy had a bed and breakfast reservation and so the rest of us stuck to the original plan and enjoyed a fun weekend even though we weren't ALL together.  One highlight of the weekend was taking a trip to Peaks Island, just a short ferry ride from Portland.  We rented bikes and rode around the island.  It was really fun!
An attempt at a family photo - obviously it was a fail.
The boys had fun in their little double trailer, and Scott had fun lugging an extra 70lbs around.
 Beautiful coast of Maine...
Humming to a snail to get it to come out of its shell...
 Playing in the tide pools...
A beautiful spot for  a picnic lunch...
Here we are walking through the swamp to get to the old WWII bunker...
Battery Steel Bunker which housed two 16 inch guns.
Nearing the end of the long, pitch-black tunnel connecting the two gun areas...
We got to see a boat bring in a huge load of lobsters that they were then bringing to restaurants in Portland...
This last Friday we returned to Portland for round #2 of the Allenby family gathering!  Jeff and Ashley's plane made it this time, barely, due to more storms, and we had a fun, but short, visit with them.  After hanging out at Brian and Sarah's for most of the morning (we left NH early when we woke up at 6:00am to no power) we went to a great little beach to explore before heading home around naptime...
The little beach turned into a sandbar and you could walk way out.  The boys loved it!
We found SO many hermit crabs...
 Camden was a brave boy!
The rest of the gang arrived a little later (we had to get the boys out of the house...they were crazy...)
 Lots of crabs!
Brothers - Brian, Scott and Jeff...
Sisters - Me, Sarah and Ashley
 The original Allenby bunch...
The "kids"...
Thanks for all the Portland fun!
