Camden's First Birthday!

We had a wonderful time celebrating Camden's first birthday on Sunday! I still can't even believe that an entire year has passed since his birth! In some ways, it feels like I was just pregnant! The traumatic labor and delivery is still so fresh in my mind it feels like yesterday. But, in other ways it seems like such a long time ago that it was just Scott and me. It feels like Camden has always been a part of our family and I honestly can't imagine our lives without him. I never realized what an important day the first birthday would be for me as a mom. I was so sentimental and excited and overwhelmed and happy and sad all at the same time! We invited both of our families to come over to our house to celebrate. We had a big cookout, opened lots of presents and enjoyed one another's company. Camden was such a trooper! We went to church in the morning, which on this particular Sunday was held outside at a beautiful park. They do this once a summer and it was so wonderful to be outside, enjoying God's beautiful creation on such a special day. Camden fell asleep in my arms for most of the service and it was amazing to just snuggle my little boy who is growing up so quickly. He took a nap when we got home and woke up just as the first people were arriving for our party! He did great throughout the afternoon and had so much fun being surrounded by all the people he loves! We had a wonderful day and are so thankful that we live close enough to both of our families to share special occasions like this one together! Let's hope Camden's second year of life is just as incredible as his first!


We have his 12 month pediatrician appointment tomorrow, so I will update the blog with his height, weight and everything he's doing and learning right now soon!
