Scott and I took the boys to the ocean today! The forecast said 80 and sunny, but in reality it was partly cloudy, windy and somewhere in the 70's! We didn't care though. With Hurricane Irene and the school year both approaching quickly, we knew we had to squeeze in some last summer fun while we had the chance.
We didn't leave until after lunch and the boys took their afternoon nap in the car. It was actually really wonderful to sit in a quiet car and talk to Scott for an hour and a half! We rarely get that much quiet time together in the middle of the day! We drove to Great Island Common in New Castle, NH and had a blast building sandcastles, exploring the ocean and playing on the great big playground. Although it wasn't a perfect "beach day" we had a blast being all together!
We even got to stop at Johnson's Dairy Bar on the way home for the biggest ice cream cones ever. YUMMMM!!!!
Overall a wonderful day with my wonderful family. I'm so blessed.
